TRAPPER INFORMATION

Indiana Sporting Clays State

Thank you for volunteering to trap at the Indiana State Sporting Clays Championship, August 6–9!

Please arrive each day by 7:30 AM to check in and receive your station assignment.

As a trapper, your job is simple: safely throw targets, call DEAD and LOSS, and help keep squads moving. You will NOT be loading or servicing the machines—our course staff handles all machine maintenance and loading.

Lunch and bottled water are provided each day.

Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and closed-toe shoes, and bring a positive attitude. Your role is a huge part of making this championship a great experience for every shooter.

TRAINING IS REQUIRED!!!!!!!!

While trapping isn't difficult, there are important rules and procedures that every trapper needs to know. Our goal is for everyone to feel confident, prepared, and comfortable before the State Championship. For that reason, attending one of our in-person training sessions in July is required unless you're already an experienced trapper.

This video is a great reference guide for trapping!!

The below GUIDE is a great reference to trapping and some quick rules. This will be expanded and include contact #s for the week of the STATE shoot for your reference. The guide will be placed at each station during State.
